Shashneva Ivanovo State University (Shuya branch) (Shuya, Russia) SOCIO-CULTURAL DYNAMICS OF SMALL PROVINCIAL TOWN DEVELOPMENT (THE EXAMPLE OF SHUYA IVANOVO OBLAST): THE ROLE OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS Relevance. The article presents socio-cultural dynamics of development of a small town Shuya in Ivanovo Oblast, identifies its cultural and educational centres, demonstrating the features of socio-cultural provincial space (locus), unlike metropolitan and industrial cities. The paper shows that educational centres determine the creative and spiritual orientation of small-town development, influencing the state of socio-cultural environment, reflecting the parameters of socio-cultural development dynamics. In this connection the article defines the cultural and educational potential of Shuya University and its role in the creation and development of the socio- cultural space of Shuya town. The authors reveal that the socio-cultural dynamics relates to the influence of the educational centre which provides the expansion of the socio-cultural space through intercommunicative relations, the exit beyond the closed provincial locus, demonstrating not only the socio-cultural and moral identification of identity, but also the influence of the cultural locus of Shuya on other cultural centres of Russia and foreign countries. The aim of the research is to analyze the cultural, educational and spiritual potential of Shuya, to highlight the socio-cultural dynamics of its cultural space with educational and cultural institutions as organizing centres of the educational socio-cultural space of Shuya in the centre. The scientific novelty of the research consists in revealing the significance of socio-cultural dynamics in provincial towns of different regions (Arzamas, Shuya), highlighting in particular the features of the dynamics of Shuya, the centre of which is the educational trends of Shuya University. The peculiarities of socio-cultural dynamics for the cultural space of the small town of Shuya are identified as the results of the study.
